Kero-keroppi green tea macarons

First of all I would like to thank all my readers for taking the time to read my blog. I am soooooo happy that my previous post hits up to 2k readers in a day. I couldn't be happier because it was the first time in my life.XD I've been receiving e-mails and one of my lovely readers sent me photos of her newly drawn eyebrow which learned from the post and mentioning "Thank you for writing this". This really touches my heart to the core!Thank you.. Glad that my reviews are helpfull:)

As I promise, today I'm going to show how I make these Kero-keroppi green tea macaroons.
One day I was kinda in a mood to baking. So the first after 10 years I baked was actually "The Fault In Our Stars" cookies. you can view them in my instagram. teehee !

So I'm searching on the internet how to make green tea macaroons and I saw keroppi macaroons! They were super cute although it seems to be a little bit tricky to make for beginners. Of course you can just make only green tea macaroons but I'm challenging myself see how far I could go. lololll!  Never try never know.

Above Picture was when they're all well baked and decorated. So lets get started!;)

There are three different steps you have to make:
1) Green tea Ganache
2) Macaroons Shells
3) Decorations.

The ingredients was actually very simple. Just don't complicate yourself;)
First what we are going to prepare for the tools:
1) 1 big bowls.
2) Spatula
3) Sifter
4) Baking Pan
5) Baking sheets(to apply on the pan)
6) Different sizes of measuring cup.
7) hand mixer.

Recipes for about 10 macaroons.
Measure all the ingredient in a scale or by measuring cup where I found it is more easier.
Ingredients you need for making Green Tea Ganache.
Green Tea Ganache(from left to right):
1) 1/4 cup of Whipping Cream 1/4 cup
2) 1g less or more of Green Tea Powder (depending on your taste)
3) 5g of Unsalted Butter
4) 60g of Cook-able White Chocolate

Macaroon Shell:
1) 1/4 cup of powdered cugar
2) 1/3 cup of almond powder
3) 1/4 cup of caster sugar
4) 1 egg white (room temperature)
5) Apple Green food coloring.
6) 1g or less of Green Tea powder.
p/s: Egg white must be set on room temperature, if its not..your macaroons might not be well formed.

Lets get started with making green tea Ganache.
Heat up the whipping cream...

Pour boiled whipping cream into white chocolate.

and stir until melted.

Add the softened butter and green tea powder and stir well.

when it's all done, keep the ganache into the fridge.

Next we're gonna make the Macaroon shells:
Sift the Powdered sugar, almond powder and green tea powder and mix all together. why sift? It is to get rid of any large pieces or lumps

Whip the egg white with a hand or stand mixer at low speed and gradually increase the speed.

As the egg white starts foaming like in the picture,

add HALF of the caster sugar and continue mixing approximately about 2 minutes. Don't forget to gradually increase the speed!

Then add the rest of the caster sugar with a bit of green food colouring. Continue mixing until the mixture is glossy and stiff.

When you get a sitff peak or you should be able to hold the bowl upside down without the batter sliding out, then you can stop mixing.

Add the sifted powders to your green egg white...

and with a spatula fold the batter and flatten until fully mixed.

When the powders are incorporated to the egg whites, create a flower shape with your batter and then with your spatula go around the edge and back to the center.

You want to repeat these step a few times until the mixture should flow like a ribbon when you hold up the spatula.(as picture shows) Don’t overmix! If you want to test if the batter has good consistency, just dollop some batter on a piece of parchment paper. If the dollop slowly “flattens”, you’re good to go! If not, just keep folding.

Pour the batter into the piping bag and secure.

Cut the tip and start squeeze them on the baking sheets.

Pipe the macaroons onto the baking sheets until you get the desired shape and size.
Try to make an oval shape for keroppi face. Remember that the shells will “flatten” once you’ve piped, so don’t pipe the shape too big.

Tap the pan a few times to release the air bubbles, let them set for 30 minutes or longer to form a dry skin.

If the macaron doesn't stick to your finger when you touch it, you can move to the next step and put your macaroons in a preheated oven for 150℃.

Bake for 10-12 minutes in the 150℃ oven. Do keep a close eye on them because the last couple of minutes as they will brown easily. You can test if they are done by touching the tip of a macaroon, if it wobbles/soft they are not done yet.

Whwn it's done, let the shells cool completely before removing them from the baking sheets. so it should be
like this in picture.

For Decorations, we need white and dark chocolate for keroppi's eyes and mouth.
Melt the white and dark chocolate.

put them into a piping bag and pipe the white chocolate on the baking sheet.

Let harden in the fridge.

Next take out the ganache from the fridge, and pour them into a piping bag.

Put the ganache on the shell and sandwich together with another shell.

For keroppi's cheek, what we need is Some milk, Powdered sugar and a little bit of rose pink food colouring.

Mix well until it stiff.

I use the icing as a "glu" to stick the eyes to the macaroons.

use the dark chocolate to draw the eyes and mouth, and also pink sugar icing for the cheeks.

Then it should be seen like this! Continue the same decorating step for the rest of the macaroons.

Put all  the macaroons in the fridge when it's done and wait few hours or the next day to eat. It taste even better the day after!;) Now our kero-keropi's macaroons are ready! don't forget to take a picture because they're to cuteeeee! haha :D

Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. yummmmm!

Notes: You can store the sandwiched macarons refrigerated in an airtight container for up to two weeks. They can also be frozen for longer.

Macarons are unreliable cookies even if you have made them for several times. The results can vary from time to time, and sometimes you have no idea what went wrong. But don’t give up! They are definitely not impossible to make. Once you get the "key" of it you’ll be able to make them without even thinkingThis may test your patience as well.

I do strongly agree that baking is a great stress reliever. Baking does making me happy! And they are highly addictive. I don't know what do you think but to me once I bake I'll never stop. loll

So I hope you enjoy reading this post, if you have bake any of these macarons do email me or tag me in facebook!;)

Happy caking!
good luck!;)

♕ xoxo ♡♡
