Focus Optometry 3D Computer Vision Therapy

As we all know that eyes are the most important sensory organ. But how many of us know how to take care of our eye sight. It is important not only to know the main eye diseases, but also to be critically aware of one's own strength of vision in order to recognize changes in time.
I've been wearing glasses since primary and I always find myself looking dork wearing glasses, so wearing contact lenses are always my first choice. lol. But now seen as a fashion statement, glasses are becoming more popular than ever. Many people no longer view having to wear glasses as a burden, they now see them as the hottest accessory and even those who embraced contact lenses have switched to fashionable eye wear.
Whether you choose to wear eyeglasses or contact lenses for vision correction or some mainly just for fashion to look cool or to add personality to their outfit, and mostly depends on your personal preference. Lifestyle, comfort, convenience and etc..

On one fine Sunday noon, me and friends had visited to
Focus Optometry located at Bellisa Row, Burmah Road, Penang

It was my first time to Focus Optometry. As soon as I stepped in and I felt really amazed by the wide range of eye wear selection with many kinds of eye wear brands, colours, styles and shapes.
There will be professional optometrist explaining about their newest eye testing equipment in order to let everyone understand the concept of professionalism in eye equipment before we start tested on it.

At Focus Optometry, they offer glaucoma screening examination which include checking of eye pressure which picture shown below the equipment on the right-- (Reichert7).
And what is Glaucoma? Glaucoma is an eye nerve disease which often occurs slowly and silently with no pain or obvious vision loss, and it may left untreated and can slowly cause blindness. This is known as the silent thief of sight.

To check for glaucoma, a person has to undergo 3 examination to confirm the diagnosis of the disease which are eye pressure or IOP, visual field and optic nerve condition. If a person fails 2 out of 3 examinations is highly suspected of glaucoma. hmmm..

Glaucoma screening on the go. I was quite nervous actually. lol  Through the optometrist explanation, normal pressure is 11-21, thank god my results shown are normal. haha

In an eye exam room, the equipment which I'm holding is called phoropter for checking my eye power accurately. At Focus Optometry, their normal price for eye test is only at RM30. But it is waived if customers make a pair of spectacle. ;)

Nowadays Contact lenses have becoming very command and popular with more and more varities of brands, colours and sizes. But what are we not in aware is that people who fond to wear contact lenses like me should know.. not every lenses fit our eyes. Some may be uncomfortable wearing and some may infected our eyes if we wears the wrong one.

So in the same room with eye exam, to know which the good contact lens fit is, it starts with a thorough eye exam to ensure the most up to date prescription and rule out any pre-existing conditions that could interfere with contact lens wear. With this Slit Lamp Examination, they will determine the best fitting lens based on your lifestyle needs, the shape(too tight or too lose) and health of your eye.
Also by using this equipment, it can function like microscope so optometrist can pick up disease like cataract, corneal problems, eye lids problem and etc. So many functions!

The fundus camera they use at Focus Optometry is a canon non-dilating fundus camera. It takes a picture of your fundus to see the health of the retina so the optimetrist can detect any abnormalities which may lead to diabetes, hypertension, and glaucoma and so on. The charging rate are in very reasonable price per exam for only RM30. ;)

Next eye test equipment in a room which is their latest 3D Computer Vision Therapy which known as Lazy Eye Therapy (Amblyopia). It is mostly a condition in children when vision does not develop properly in one eye. As the child's brain became mature, it will refuse the image coming from the poor seeing eyes and their vision impairment becomes permanent because of these serious circumstances. If it is left untreated, a child's vision will never develop correctly in that eye where wearing spectacles does not help anymore. That's why it's essential to have a child with amblyopia regularly tested by an eye doctor or optometrist.

Their latest 3D computer vision Therapy can help to improve visual acuity, motor and sensory fusion and therefore a better stereopsis. They are also the first and only Optometry company to have this equipment in Malaysia! Haha…the therapy is also the most effective one right now where it uses 3D technology which stimulates not only the cells in the eye but also the brain.

Spectacles wearing are just not enough to relieve the symptoms of complain of headache, eye strain, double or blurred vision and inability to concentrate while doing close work such as ready and etc.. So it is proven that 3D computer Vision Therapy is far more effective. Company of Focus Optometry will have an amazing service and responsibility to monitor and take care of your children.
It uses up to 45 minutes per session and only cost RM90 for first time, RM60 every session or go for package of RM600 for 12 times which cost only RM50 per session.

After all those "gan cheong"(nervous) eye tested, I'm feeling grateful that my both eyes are normal. lol.. And it's our time to choose eye frame for our own. So much varieties and brands of eye wear that I don't even know how to choose the right one for my face features. (Select phobia) lololl.

And I just kept on trying and trying. For over 8 years I've been wearing the same old dork spec at home. Never change my spec because I never ever wanted to wear spec out from my house...lololll.. Unless I got eye infected for few times and I get to forced myself wearing spectacles. =.='' and all the while I am wearing contact. Despite of looking dork with my 8 years old spec, now it is the very right time for me to choose a more fashionable eye wear for myself. No more defend wearing spec. lol!

And never the less, SELFIEss!. lol beware of our countless "SS".

Other than that, there's more unique, fashionable glasses to choose as well. Gucci x Chanel x Marc Jacob x Boss x Hummer x Christian Dior x Kate Spade x Ray-ban x Mont Blanc  and etc etc.

I Love this Polarized Sunglass.

Also during the day, refreshment is provided to the guests. Thank you Markus restaurant for the food provided.;)
